We're rolling out our mindfulness training program to 90 schools over three years free of charge, thanks to our partner Frasers Property Australia Foundation

Frasers Property Australia Foundation takes pride in building healthy communities and shares our belief that long-term mental wellness plays a key role in achieving this.

Online delivery in 2020

In Term 3 & 4 we’re bringing the entire program online so we can continue to support schools during these challenging times, even when we can’t visit you face-to-face. So we can still bring participants an engaging and interactive experience, we’ve carefully structured the Smiling Mind School program to account for the differences that come with online learning.

Schools who participate in Term 3 & 4 will still get the same knowledge and practical advice, plus new opportunities to engage, interact and learn through the following components:

  1. Introduction to Mindfulness session: designed to foster interest in mindfulness and build support for a whole school approach to implementation, all staff at your school can participate in this 60 minute session led by a Smiling Mind facilitator.
  2. Resources for teachers and families: we’ll send your school resources to help bring mindfulness into your classrooms, as well as information you and share with families in your community. Primary schools will receive a copy of our Mindfulness Curriculum for years 1-6.
  3. Online learning modules: all teachers at your school get access to Smiling Mind’s engaging self-paced online learning modules, which take approximately three hours to complete.
  4. Interactive Q&A session: Teachers can join educators from across your state in a live session hosted by one of our facilitators – they’ll guide participants through a live meditation, and then answer questions and provide advice on how to implement a whole school approach to mindfulness.

Find out more about how all these components fit together to form a comprehensive approach in the program overview [PDF].
